When you saw a strange creature floating in the sea, what will you do? Will you go to ignore it or will you go to help it? But what if you realize that it's an elephant?
In the North West coast of Sri Lanka, when the Sri Lanka Navy doing their regular patrol and accidentally saw a strange creature floating off on the said coast. The thing is, due to the strong current, the creature was obviously struggling to float.
What's more shocking is that the creature that they saw was no other than an elephant which swept away almost 10 miles from the shore. They immediately jumped off the water and joined forces the moment they realized that is an elephant and save the huge creature.
Since it's being dragged out to the sea by the strong tides, the elephant was struggling to survive.
Using its trunk as a snorkel for him to be able to breathe, the poor mammal managed to survive. But, the strong currents still swept her away.
Because of the strong currents, this creature can no longer save himself even though elephants are excellent swimmers.
The navy workers then dived into the water, then they tied the ropes around the elephant once they reached the creature. To help the elephant calm down, one person climbed onto the huge creature.
Realizing that she's being rescued, the elephant finally calms down after the struggles they had experience.
They were able to bring the animal back to the shore with the help of the Navy. To check if the elephant had suffered injuries and making sure that the animal is well before they release it to the wild, the Wildlife officials waited for the elephant on the shore. The wildlife officials told in their statements:
