Nilinis nila ang Kanal pero laking gulat nila nang madiskubre nila ang bagay na ito

One of the oldest waterways in Paris is the Canal Saint-Martin which is over a decade after the canal was last drained, however, in 2016, the authorities decided to conduct a massive cleanup at the said Canal. From the 4.5-kilometer canal, the cleaners removed more than 40 tons of debris. However, the workers also discovered that there was junk from previous generations and a lot of can beers underwater.

When the water subsided, the cleaners also found wine bottles, as well as bicycles, and motorcycles. They found out that these single-track vehicles were old models, upon closer inspection. What's more interesting was when they came over a car while tidying up.

During the cleanup, the cleaners also discovered mobile phone, boomboxes, a suitcase, traffic cones, an office chair, a shopping cart, tables, and a vintage camera. Though a flock of birds began moving to the newly-spruced up canal as their new home, they transferred the canal’s fishes to a safer location. Modern stuff also fell upon pennies from World War I.

Curious people who pass by also observed the ongoing cleanup and gathered at the bridges. An office worker, who took a picture of the massive dump told: “Bloody hell, it’s a giant dustbin.” The canal’s cleanup was a lesson for the city’s residents to stop themselves from dropping trash in the historic river and it serves as an evidence of Paris’ rich past.

In 1825, Canal Saint-Martin was built, it became on the most favorites hangout of the city’s “Bobos,” or the bourgeois bohemian which is a group of wealthy and young left wingers. What can you say about the story? Are you surprised by what the people found on that Canal? Kindly share and give your comments and opinions to us.
