"Sleeping with wet hair" is just a common word that our parents taught us. But we do not really know what might be the outcome to sleep with a wet hair. You might probably change this habit if you are one of those persons who do this. This 32-year-old woman was quickly going to the hospital after she experienced a facial paralysis. And the reason why it happened is that she slept with her wet hair. The woman was called by her nickname, Xiong who was from Wuhan, China and working in a shopping mall. Xiong, however, usually sleeping while her hair was wet because of her busy and tiring schedules.

However, she woke up from a deep sleep one night. And she noticed that she can't really move or control the left side of her face. When she went to the bathroom to brush her teeth, she then looked at the mirror and there she found out that her mouth was deformed. She then quickly hurried to the hospital and the doctor diagnosed her with Facial Nerve Paralysis or popularly called as Bell's Palsy. Doctors implied that it might be generated by her habit of sleeping while her hair was still wet.

Furthermore, her situation was presumably created by the temperature that changes her body. Sleeping with wet hair can also cause her face to encounter seizures and it also triggers pain. The doctors also stated that this practice could drove to facial paralysis particularly when you were sleeping and your body was in a comfortable position. Moreover, sleeping with your hair while it was dripping wet on the pillow could also create a perfect area for bacteria that can produce infections.

Luckily, Xiong was finally recovered and after 10 days of full treatment, she got already the complete control of her facial muscles.
